Regarding my last post about obtaining quotes on Reallymoving.com, one of the main ones I was considering had a rating of 4.8 out of 5, however, on the Review Centre website, the same firm had a rating of 1.3 out of 5 from about 200 reviews! My question is, is there anywhere in particular where the reviews are more reliable? I would've thought the info on Reallymoving.com would be fairly trustworthy.

Thanks for the links. I will need to refer these also, but I meant reviews of surveyors.

Hi all.Just an update. I decided to over insure and selected a policy that covered for £1m, which is more than enough to cover any reinstatement. Thanks for all the replies and advice.

There is a lot to like about the simplicity of them and they are particularly good if you are way above average in terms of contents or rebuild cost because their assumption will be slightly above average due to negative selection but not that far.
One word of warning though, some policies may have high or even unlimited headline limits but many policies still have inner limits like how much alternative accommodation they'll pay for or a limit on valuables and its necessary to check all of those are suitable for your needs and not just get drawn in by the headline number.1 -
Thanks for the reply. I think all the other things were good too.
