Is International travel insurance the perks from your Plus Account and/or Credit card useful?

I understand that many (If not all) of the International travel insurance part the perks from your Plus Account, Credit card do not issue you a certificate. Worse the policy booklet they give you do not contain contact your name, DOB.
The Insurer will ask you, if you want to make a claim is to contact the number mentioned on the policy / Booklet and/or their website. So it will not be an issue if you want to make a claim.
However, the travel insurance is needed not only when you want to make a claim. It is also needed when you want to apply for a Visa, Visa on arrival, or to get entry on immigration.
When you travel to a country which require a Visa, or Visa on Arrival they will need to see your insurance certificate with your name, DOB printed on it. You can not just give them a phone number and ask the immigration officer or consulate to make a phone call, like when making a claim.
In many cases the person in insurance come as the perks from your Plus Account, Credit card refuse to issue such certificate, letter.  So you will still need to buy the new one which make the one you have with your bank is redundant and will not be useful ??
I am considering to get one of the Plus account (paying for the perks), but would like to hear people experience using such travel insurance from the bank to travel in a country which require a travel insurance, if you do not mind to share !!!

The Co-op Bank Everyday Extra account issues an annual eligibilty letter for travel insurance.
Having said that, customers will probably have to request it from the bank - that was my initial experience, now comes in the mail each year.
Send a PM if you want specifics.

The question of a paper certificate of insurance has been raised before.  It seems that most insurers will provide it if requested.

Nationwide used to issue such certificate each year, but at some point they stop issuing certificate.
After that point they just keep arguing never issue a certificate.
The point here, why they do not just issue such letter without people need to waste time asking it ?? It saves both the customers and the bank staffs time as well.
As I understand the banks are just taking their cuts from the insurers. The insurance companies are separate entities. My suspicion here is that the third party (e.g the insurers) deliberately make it difficult to ask people to buy another product before issuing a letter.

My concern would be what does each one cover.
Health problems, certain activities, length of stay etc.
You also need a contact number in case of emergency as they have certain hospitals and doctors you can or can't use.
You should also have your certificate with you when you travel. Leave a photocopy at home so relatives have access to the details should you not be able at the time.

The difficilty of getting this information is why I now use individual insurance and one with easy communication.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
