Just wait until it times out & money will appear back in account.
I've had a couple where payment didn't go through properly & had 2nd pending payment hanging about.
It does seem to happen more frequently with chase than I've had with other banks0 -
Normally pending transactions have an expiry date so if the transaction isn’t confirmed by that date then the pending transaction is cancelled and the money goes back on the available balance. Chase should be able to tell you this date.
However a month seems very excessive for a transaction to be pending. Does the transaction definitely say pending under the status on the transaction in question in the app?Given you have evidence that the transaction is not going to be confirmed and the timeframe has passed, Chase should be able to cancel this pending transaction (I don’t believe they can’t, other banks can cancel pending transactions but generally only do it in exceptional circumstances). I would suggest logging a complaint with Chase.0 -

Yep still says pending on the chase app unfortunately.
How long usually does it take to drop off, is there a maximum duration?.
. cheers
When I queried mine with chase, they said upto 28 days. But it dropped off after a week. I've currently got one that's been there about 4 days, so hoping that drips of in a couple of days0 -

Had the issue with Chase and an Amazon purchase.
They did the preauthorisation, but did not claim it but instead made a new claim for the money.
So I had 2 charges pending on my account.
I was told it could take up to 28 day to come off.
Ive gone back to credit cards for fuel, Amazon as both preauthorise a charge.0 -

Normally the pre-auth isn't actually deducted from your account balance, it is deducted from the available-balance.0

Wait till you own an EV.
My friend tried to charge his at 4 places one day due to them not starting to charge, each charger does a preauthorisation.
By the time he got one that charged his car he had over £200 on his card.
Took 2 weeks for one of the charges to drop off.0 -
