HM Revenue Tax refund

I received a letter from HM Revenue on April 20th regarding a refund of paying too much tax. However it doesn't give any indication of how its going to be paid back, as of yet there's nothing been paid into my bank or a refund in my wages. A company called Phillipson Hardwick Advisory Ltd have also received a copy of this letter but as of yet i have no reply from them. Anyone else has a letter like this?

Looks like you have got yourself on the books of one of the tax reclaim vultures.  The refund will have gone to them and they will eventually get round to paying you less their cut + VAT.  Have you ever reclaimed PPI etc as they look like one of the vultures that cover everything, sign up to one thing and the small print lets them do anything else.
  • Thanks for the reply. Don't know how i got on their books as the letter came direct from HM Revenue. I have contacted said company twice but as yet no replies.

Have you ever responded/clicked on an advert on Facebook which may have looked legit, for stuff like income tax refunds, marriage tax allowance etc?
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Can you login to your own HMRC tax account online? There should be some information on there.

I had a tax refund last year and I was notified online, by letter and the amount was paid directly into my bank account. It didn't take as long as six weeks.

If it were me, I'd contact HMRC (online, you can message them) and ask them where the refund is. I'd also contact Phillipson Hardwick Advisory Ltd and ask them what they're playing at. (They obviously want some of your money but you can ask them anyway)

This is the info from Companies House -

fair enough - but if you actually have 'all the crap they want' to confirm your identity it would be the simplest way to confirm who's probably  going to end up with a chunk of your tax refund and potentially stop it happening again, so it's your loss.

No it isn't. Once you have proved your identity (which really isn't difficult and I saw no cr*p) then you can just log on to your account in less than five minutes at any time.

I find it VERY helpful. Especially as I'm self-employed. Being able to logon and tell HMRC when they've made a mistake - as they recently did with my tax code - meant my problem was sorted out in less than a week. If I'd written or had to phone (and can you ever get through that way?!)(With or without cr*p) I'd still be waiting. And waiting. I'd much rather have ten minutes of proving my identity (really not a problem) just once than hours of inconvenience.

  • My father received P800 paperwork from HMRC saying that HMRC owed him money and was sending a cheque to PHILLIPSON HARDWICK AD LTD.

I can categorically say that Phillipson Hardwick have scammed HMRC.

My father has vascular dementia. He has been unable to use smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc his entire life! There is absolutely ZERO chance that he has signed ANY paperwork to give permission to these people to act as his agent.

They have fraudulently used his personal details, without permission, to scam money from HMRC.
  • i have received one of these letters(3 in one ). i phoned gove.uk ... they cannot do much because the check have been issued £680  to phillipson hardwick advisory ltd . I READ they take a 48% commision but no information of when they will pay the left over ?  I reported it to www.actionfraud.police.uk . i have a crime ref .
gov.uk told me they had all the correct login information .. i need to change my login details .. I am not sure how to do it .  any ideas?? .
