Balance Transafer Card - Maximum Amount

There seems to be plenty of choice for balance transfer cards, but at what point are you told what the maximum amount you can transfer is? I don't want it to be after the company has checked all my details because by that point there's been a mark on your credit file and if the amount is low then you may want to go for another deal but that would mean another mark on your report.

You'll be told your limit once you're accepted and the amount you can transfer will be in the agreement (typically 95%). A small number will tell you your limit beforehand.
If you get less that you wanted, accept it and transfer what you can.1 -
Some will give you an estimated credit limit during the application process subject to , I know I got that with NatWest
1-2 applications in a short period of time won't be terrible for your record either0
