Morning all. Off to Wales today but first I have to empty the car which is full of lengths of wood to be cut into kindling, rescued from a skip by my very kind OHs dad for us...Also, on further perusal, found a warning triangle, a good heavy one, a few boxes which I will use for my plants, a couple of scrubbing brushes, new and unused, a sponge, the same. There is yet more wood in there so if it's still there Monday, I may go and get the rest. The kindling will be a job for next week. I'm hoping to bring back the fire surround I got last time I was in Wales and fix that to the wall next week too, along with the sewing, its going to be busy. I said yesterday my sister is a terrible procrastinator, but I am also very guilty of that.Hope the sleepless ones get some relief tonight. Gers, have fun...All you on holiday, hope you're having fun too...Nelski, nice to see you, I'm sure the foodbank will be over the moon. Take care all, and again, shout out to the missing....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Morning all. It's another cloudy and breezy day here, still on the chilly side. The forecast for the next few days is more of the same - we seem to be going backwards!
I have the usual Friday admin stuff to do, I need to bake some bread, make some soup - probably carrot & lentil as I've loads of carrots - and this afternoon will finish off the mending that I started last night. I've decided that, for a change, tonight's dinner will be cod done in batter (my own) so the kitchen will smell like a fish & chip shop, despite having the window open. Never mind, it will be enjoyed. We always used to have a fish supper from the shop on Fridays but that went by the wayside thanks to Covid and has never been re-instated. Other than that, it's the same old, same old.
Happy retirement to DH, NRA.
Fab weight loss, camelot - keep up the good work.
Happy holidays to those who are away.
Commiserations to the sleepless - let's hope the sleep fairy pays you all a visit tonight.
Hugs where needed/wanted, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
Hi everyone,
Another one here feeling very tired, but not because I wasn't able to sleep. I was woken at 1.00 by Esben crying (he'd been very unsettled all night) and ended up taking him downstairs so that Laura could sleep. He was obviously in pain from something and desperate to sleep. He fell asleep for 30 minutes but that was all until 4.00 when he suddenly seemed a little better. Laura got an appointment for him this morning and unsurprisingly he has an ear infection. Hopefully he'll recover fairly soon because we are off to Wales tomorrow for the week.
I probably won't be able to post much because there is no broadband or phone signal where we are going.
Have a good day.7
