  • It seems highly unclear, as based on your usage figures and factoring in the October price rise there appears to be no region where your energy usage in kWh can equate to £2,078 pa.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh! I really give up! I don't understand what you don't get about the simple maths. The £2078 is based on the CURRENT VERY WELL DEFINED SVR projected over 12 months. BUT as I tried to explain I understand that this will only be in effect for 5 month of the next 12, i.e a cash total of £2078 *5/12 = £866. IF we now take a guess at what the projected increase might be in October (I will assume a 40% increase) would give £2078*1.4*7/12 = £ 1697, or  total annual cost of £2653. Less the £137 I m in credit = £2426 less the old energy rebate would give £2246, however now that we have better information and know this has been increased by another £200 we should also factor this in .OK the energy company may not have been able to factor this in but they should have factored in the old energy rebate of £200. This gives a projected annual total of £2026. Or £168 per month. If you think that paying £69 per month (or £828 per year) extra is fair in reasonable then you clearly have more money to throw around than most people in this country right now.

Even without the extra £200 announced today an extra £50 per month (£600 per year) is unreasonable. To reach SEE levels of DD would require a 100% increase in energy prices in October.

What this shows is that SEE are clearly trying to improve their cash flow at the customer's expense. It is a warning to every SEE customer to carefully check their DD payments to SE and to make sure that they are not being overcharged.

The SVR varies by region (see the link in my signature) and those variations have a bigger effect on the bottom line the further you deviate from the average 2900kWh/yr. Your use is more than double the average so these variations are important.
