Thinking about having to install a charger at home, not having the convience of just getting into a car and driving a long distance for a trip away plus no option for salary sacrifice, I don't think I'm ready for an EV just yet.

15000 miles per year at 40mpg at £1.70 a litre is close to £2900 in fuel.

Electric could be 7.5p per kWh typically you get 3.5 miles per kWh so your fuel cost would be £320 ish. Plus a few out and about charging say £200.

Can you afford i not to go electric?

With supply and demand at the moment prices are a joke.
My friend got an MG ZS EV exclusive in April 3 months and 3 weeks old with 1k on the clock.
£19750, today a like for like is £26k.
Its a great car with all the goodies on it.
    Just price is the issue.
I would keep your car on the road and save as much as you can for at least 2 more year and hope things get back to normal.
Then you should have enough to buy a newer, better equipped model of EV if you want to.

I don't think the used car market will drop in the next 2 years to be honest.
