BA Tier points system BEWARE

BA has been offering double tier points on some holidays. If anyone is unfamiliar with tier points, these take Executive Club members to higher levels of membership to gain greater benefits. Has anyone on the forum had trouble receiving double tier points? My wife and I took a BA holiday to the USA in March. We expected to receive our double tier points , which would have taken us both to Silver level and allowed us to book seats free of charge for our next holiday in September. After several calls to BA we have been told that we do have these points and should be Silver members. So far our actual status has not changed! It is no longer possible to speak to anyone at BA if you have a complaint and the online system is useless. I raised the tier points issue twice on line and was told the tier points had been credited. These were the standard points, not the double. BA used to give such excellent service, but this seems to have totally broken down.

Sounds like their systems have been overwhelmed by how popular this promotion has been1
