Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry underfoot - forecast is dry and cloudy. Have wash load to peg out in a mo.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO lamb, chicken, mash, yorkshires with veg and gravy for the menfolk. I had a noodles and veg - there wasn't enough roast LO's to stretch it so I had something else. Not sure what we'll be eating tonight - will organise that when I finish work this afternoon.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, and was nice to be on a half day, I only work half day on Wednesday, working all day today then I'm finished until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks.Yesterday the bad weather kept me mostly indoors apart from a quick walk round my garden (it's small) to see what's growing. I pottered around being superficially occupied, then I read a post in another thread about making butter which caught my fancy. There was a tub of double cream in the fridge which would have probably gone to waste so I gave it a go. 😀 After a messy time I now have some lovely butter in the freezer for when I get back home.Late in the afternoon I finally ordered the armchair to match the sofas. I really like my Stressless chair but now need to have my hips higher (or parallel to) than my knees and, if I have the second hip replacement it'll be more important. No more dithering, now only 10 weeks to wait.My case is packed, I've been undecided about jackets or raincoat for ages (still am really), plumped for wearing my light rain coat and packing my quilted jacket. Now that I see that the weather forecast is for sunny days I think I'll remove the jacket and pack my gilet instead. I'm driving myself a bit potty about it, no idea why. 😀Right, I want to leave here at 7am, there's an order to collect from Marks, stuff to drop off at my preferred charity shop, shoes to return and then Top Gun to watch. I plan to be at my hotel in Glasgow by 3pm and wander down to St. Enoch's centre for the 4pm showing.I really hope that al our missing and poorlies are doing OK, happy Thursday to all.10

Morning All
Grey and wet again this morning, seems like April and May have swapped places this year. No need to water the pots in the garden, they are doing fine by themselves at the moment.
Busy day at work yesterday, the printer hadn't been working earlier in the week so lots to catch up on. We also had new PCs installed so lots of disruption too.
Finished DD's oven yesterday, it's all sparkling, I wonder if she'll notice! I will quickly call on my way home to put the bin back in.
Fake Friday at school, we are off for a long weekend then only 3 days next week, looking forward to that.
Enjoy the film Gers and have a good trip.
Hope you're OK dp1.
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning all
Dull and overcasr here but the sun is due out later, last working day of the week for me and I am so looking forward to not having to get up early tomorrow, I am not naturally a morning person !
At work today its two clients and we will make fruit scones today, there is another prospective two clients in the offing too for the new job which is fab, its typical - nothing for ages then they all come along at once.
I will do OH a pizza for dinner with salad and I will have a baked sweet potato with beans and cheese with salad, no weight loss so far this week but I will carry on.
Gers I hope you have a lovely break away xxx
Have good days all xxx10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Safe drive to Glasgow GERS and a happy holiday. It's a gloomy start here but at least it's not raining (yet) What a miserable month for weather it has been on the whole.
A nice day out yesterday with DF (we ended up in Ilkley) nothing at all bought other than lunch and wine! DF offloaded her worries about her DH whose erratic behaviour is getting worse. Speaking to his doctor about it is proving just a waste of time, I feel sorry for her.
So after my week at the van and then two days gallivanting I am confined to barracks today. Hairdresser is due after lunch to address my mop and I suppose I ought to do a bit of cleaning this morning. The ironing basket is in need of emptying so that may get done later (or it may not!) It's all stuff brought back from the van, mostly bedding and clothes.
My baby boy's birthday today! 47 how have the years gone by so quickly! He popped in last night to collect his card and present. At the same time DD called for all the washing I had done for her and to tell me she has acquired a free washer! Her neighbour had spotted it on FB. Good timing or what! She has no idea how long it will last but the photo she took of it of it in situ makes it look brand new.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and MIA. Take care one and all and be safe x x I forgot to wish ROSY a lovely holiday yesterday but I'm sure she will be having one anyway!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Good morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc.
It’s a bright start here today. I’ve a wash load to get done so hopefully it will go on the line. Got my dates mixed up – Top Gun is tonight, which is just as well as I was pooped after my London trip yesterday.
I have splurged and ordered a food delivery from Ocad0 – it’s coming between 9am and 10am. Was free delivery and £20 off a £60 shop, so I’ve stocked up. Lots of meat and fish for the freezer and lots of fruit and veg for now. Can’t remember the last time we had a food shop delivered – definitely well before the first lockdown.
Dinner tonight will be spaghetti carbonara – nice and quick. DS2 has his first A level today – Physics paper 1 – so I need to get him to school for 1.45pm as the private coach only goes at 7.30am. Hopefully he can catch the coach home if he finishes in time, else get public transport. DH has a rather cannily timed dental appointment!
Good news about the new job Ruby. Let’s hope it won’t be long before you can start with your new people.
Safe journey to Glasgow Gers x
Hope the change of meds dosage helps snoozer and that all went okay with Laura’s blood test.
Happy holidays Rosyred 😊
Great about the new washing machine for DD TA and happy belated birthday to your DS.
Hugs to all the poorlies and those feeling the strain. Should be an announcement today from the powers that be (suspicious timing after yesterday’s report – cynical moi??) so will see what gives.

Morning everyone
Nice here at the moment but meant to get really windy again later - though I live on top of a hill so what do I expect?
Work this afternoon - my last shift as I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon and then half term next week. Hoping I'll be able to manage 5 afternoons when we go back again.
Camelot - thanks for asking - I'm still really tired and achy and have a headache most of the time. I try to do as little as possible so I can manage my afternoons at work. Going in makes me feel better mentally as I have my workmates and the children to talk to but makes me more tired - I think it does me good on the whole though.
I put water in the sink to wash my dishes last night then realised it was cold! I phoned the housing association this morning and the lady told me that it probably wouldn't be fixed today - 'it's not an emergency you know' - then 2 minutes later the firm who does repairs rang to say they'd be here before I go to work.
Woke up to a photo from DD of her terrace in Milan...they're going to spend the day wandering then going to a lovely looking spa tonight.
Well I'd better do something useful. Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Good morning
Grey and cloudy ⛅ here but supposed to brighten up later.
I had a rotten night's sleep and have got a stinking headache 😫 I think I'll go for a walk in a bit to try and clear it.
I've got a load of washing in that will hopefully dry outside, and I'll try and get out into the garden this afternoon.
I hope everyone enjoys their trips away and hugs to those who are poorly or struggling 🌻9 -
Morning all. Dull and surprsingly chilly here. Had to wear a jumper yesterday. Went to Ikea with Ohs mum, she loves a candle shopping expedition and I got my temporary table. Today will involve clearing the area I'll be setting it up in, moving some leads around and getting ready to sew sew sew. My sister phoned really late last night, her electric had all gone off apart form the lights, walked her through some steps to work out what the problem was, nothing fixable unfortunately, so she's internetless, which is a pain because she was supposed to be doing a training course today but no electric means no internet. She's phoned an electrician this morning...The house is old and hasn't been well maintained really, not since my father was alive and for a couple of years before that. She's now reaping the rewards of that, and I don't expect it'll be long before she upsticks and moves to the bungalow to get it properly done. She's a terrible procrastinator. I've been nagging her for ages to get her kitchen roof done, it leaks in the rain [and has done for over two years] but she keeps putting it off with 'no, it's not that bad' etc...Told her it would definitely be bad if it fell in the kitchen. But she knows best...::sigh:::Enjoy Gers! Take both!
Ruby, great news! TA, how lucky for her! snoozer, I had to actively switch my notifications on which I did just prior to being robbed of some money, so annoying as they are, I might be tempted to keep them but get him to switch his off on your accounts. dp1, sorry it's lingering so long...sunflower, hope yours goes quick.. Take care all, hope you're all keeping tolerably...Shout out to the missing...

Made it to my hotel after a tour of six other places first and a wee bowl of cauliflower and leek soup at my favourite deli which has set me up for the day. The blooming weather can't make its mind up to be sunny or rainy. Bright sun - coats off then comes the mother of downpours for 10 minutes or so and then back to sunshine. It's very blustery in between times.Taff - in the end I plumped for the gilet and removed the quilted jacket. 😀
Whilst I was in Boots I found myself being persuaded to have some face primer and foundation applied, I've never been one for using makeup but liked the look so bought some. My skin is ruddy at the best of times but the stuff the women used evened out my tone (not the green stuff). At my wee deli the owner commented on how good I looked so that made me happy, it's amazing what a bit of slap can do!I have read through but now forgotten everything, sorry. I've got a 'date' with Maverick so need to get a wiggle on.7
