I do my own now with an EZ Chill system....it's not quite as good as a re-gas at the garage but good enough. The garage I used in the past never fixed the leaking seals but happily charged for the refrigerant.
Seems more expensive than what most of them charge...

    Oh really, by how much?
How much more have I spent than 'most of them charge'....just to the nearest ten pounds?
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.
Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience?

Why? So you can argue with them?

EZ chill £60 + £20 for filler. Local garage £40.

So £40 more to the nearest ten pounds.

Wish my re-gas was only £40, the refrigerant alone was more than that. The garage said it was the new replacement for R145?
I got the EZ + cannister for about £45.
Like i said originally, cheaper but not quite as good....with "leaking seals".
