Package holiday changes

I have a package holiday with Holiday Wagon to Florida in October 2022.  The flights were with Virgin direct from Glasgow airport.  Virgin have stopped flights from Glasgow and the alternative flights offered to us are all indirect (1 or 2 stop) or from a different airport with significant extra cost to us.  We want to cancel as this does not suit all our party but Holiday Wagon want a cancellation fee.  What can I do in this situation? Thank you

Have you looked at the HolidayWagon booking terms to see what changes are allowed regarding a change to departure point?

If they (or VS) are offering indirect ex GLA I don’t think you have any come back or cancellation right to fly indirect over direct.

Presumably VS have offered you ex EDI or via MAN or LHR?  VS may offer to cover reasonable extra costs to EDI.

If you are looking to just dismantle and get out of your holiday booking I don’t think this flight amendment will be sufficient reason. At least not without a cancellation fee to Holiday Wagon.

Their booking conditions have no section dealing with cancellations at all, either by them or the customer but hidden under the heading "pricing errors"  (!) is this

If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice to either accept an offer of an alternative holiday comparable in standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your holiday booking and refund all monies paid.

Most operators would consider a change from Glasgow to Manchester or Heathrow as a major change, ABTA certainly would, but then this company isn't a member!

I suspect this is operated out of India, the address in London is just another accommodation address used by hundreds of companies and trying to get them to agree may be harder than it should be. Their booking conditions are very strange, it says prices are based on 2 adults and 2 children for all destinations shown on their website, and yet they actually appear to be per adult. There are no suggestions that if they cancel the holiday, because there is no longer a flight, and I am certain Virgin will be offering full refunds, that there is any charge at all, so push, if you want, for a full refund
