i hired a solicitor for a court case.
The solicitor just told me to transfer £250 into his account to show up on the day, which I did. There was no receipt for what i had payed. or an invoice showing what it is for.
After court the solicitor asked for an additional fee? there was no contract, no discussion, no client care letter showing what i am paying for. Now since i have not responded to the solicitor, because i am stuck on what to do, they have been sending me invoices which have been dated after the court case along with threats to take even further?

If there was someone I was going to ignore, it wouldn't be a solicitor.Talk to them!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Look here...https://www.gov.uk/challenge-solicitors-bill
Years ago i challenged a solicitors bill and got it reduced in spite of him trying all sorts of tricks.
1. ask for a breakdown of all the costs being charged to you.
2. offer a reasonable amount as full payment.
3. if they refuse go to the site above and challenge them but do not tell the solicitor you are going to do this as if they are forwarned tey can stop the assessment.0 -
So where did you find this 'solicitor' and are they legit ? or are they the sort of people that will write a letter/turn up at court for a fee to generate a response from the opposing side ?
And in what capacity were they acting for you ?0 -
