There was a thread yesterday with someone saying they couldn't get a smart meter fitted until October with two different suppliers. Whether the limitation was availability of people to fit meter or the meters themselves I have no idea.

My bet is customer demand is increasing given what is happening with energy prices.

If you have an E7 electricity tariff with BG you do NOT WANT a smart meter at present. They don't support E7 smart meters (unless that has changed in the last couple of weeks!).

Count yourself lucky, they will only cause issues in the coming years.

What a lucky escape. They'll only be used to roll out time of use tariffs, where you pay far more for energy used in the Evening, than during the night, mid morning etc. Given I use most of my energy when I return home from work, I don't fancy paying over the odds as a punishment for being out during the day. I asked my boss if he would let me return home at 10AM, to do my washing, ironing etc during the cheaper rates, but strangely he was against the idea.......

Well, at least that'll stop the energy suppliers making bookings to fit them which I have to cancel!
