Pure Planet and Mclaren Credit Services

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help with this issue

I was with Pure Planet until they collapsed back in October, i was then moved to Shell Energy

I have received multiple calls from MClaren Credit Services claiming that i owe PP £330, im struggling to see how this is possible as PP went bust around the 16/10, i have then made 3 payments to PP via DD since they went bust before Shell took over my DD in February:

1/11/21 - £152
1/12/21 - £152
4/1/22 - £152

So, by my calculations i owe them nothing. I have asked for written proof that i owe PP money (i dont think thats unreasonable to try and confirm i havent been double charged) but i have recived nothing from McLaren

I received a text yesterday from McLaren, they are now offering a reduced bill of £226 and have advised that it has to be payed by the 2/6/22, but then the next sentence advises that this "will be updated to reflect a "partially satisfied" status and may continue to affect your credit rating" Why would i pay this if the debt isnt cleared??

Would i be better off just going to court? Surely a judge would have more common sense than these people

Is anyone else in the same situation here?

I dont have any issues paying the money if i do owe it, i just want proof that im not being double charged, ive never missed a bill payment in my life, so im at a bit of a loss here

Any ideas on what to do next?

Cheers

Mick

    Welcome to the forum.
Mclaren Credit Services will need to prove that you owe the money. I would wait until they provide evidence. If they call you, ask after the proof that you've requested.

What have you considered in your calculations? What if anything did you owe PP at the point they went bust? Your payments above will have at least largely been covering your usage for the period after they went bust.
