Smart metre saying 'rate will change' despite being on fixed tariff

Hello!

I got moved onto E.on Next and in the email notifying me they said my tariff wouldn't change. I managed to get onto the 1 year fixed rate on MSEs advice on 31st March (2022), but for the last 2 weeks (roughly coinciding with the E.on Next switch), my smart metre has read 'Tariff rate will change' and our usage seems to be up around 50p-£1 a day compared to normal (and it's been warmer so we haven't had radiators on at all).

Has anyone else experience this or know whether my tariff rate is actually going to change? Thought I'd ask on here before going through the absolute rigmarole that is getting in touch with E.on.

What does your online account say?

Note that for billing it is just usage data that is taken from the smart meter, so if the tariff data on the smart meter is incorrect it won't actually mean you get charged the wrong amount if the correct tariff is applied by the billing system.

Oh, that's good to know. Our online account is still saying it's the right tariff so it sounds like it's just a smart metre error. Thanks :)

It doesn't sound like a smart meter "error" just that your meter has not been (fully/correctly) updated to your current tariff by your current supplier (E.on Next?)
