Just switched electricity tariff please help me check
Hi
just received MSE email regarding energy increase. With are with EDF and they were one of the 3 companies that’s in the article that we’re offering deals. I think this deal is ok based on info in article but but I panicked did it really quickly and now my brain has gone to mush. Can somebody just double check for me. FYI -The article said not advising to switch if over 30% increase. Current tariff on left, tariff that I have just changed to starts tomorrow. I rushed it and just need someone to double check for me. Ruddy hell, honestly I got myself into a right flap!
thanks guys

That looks like a 19% increase in total cost, and will see you through next winter, when the expected price increase will hit standard tariffs.Of course you will be paying higher rates between now and October, but hopefully cheaper rates thereafter, when usage will be higher. If you know your actual usage in kWh over 12 months (or even better, readings from May 2021, October 2021 and now), you can make a better forecast of future costs, as the figures EDF use may not reflect reality (they were always out when I was a customer of theirs).

Hi, thank you. I really appreciate you taking a look at that. Like I said did it in a rush out of panic. Like you said we will be paying higher rates from tomorrow but we won’t be using the heating now until October ish so hopefully get the benefit of the new rate then.
thanks again, really do appreciate you taking the time to have a look and reply.1
