I have received this letter. I did buy a ticket, but only after the grace period had expired. To be honest I've been ignoring all the other letters I have received.
This happened in April 2021.
How can I A: Get away with it,
B: Pay it at its initial cost?
It's my partners car.

DCBL have added a fake amount ... £70 ?
Government has banned this fakery. Government expects the parking industry to abide by the spirit of the law ..... why don't DCBL as a member of the SRA, The Solicitors Regulation Authority abide by the law ?
You need to respond asking the same question and at the same time request a further 30 days as you are taking debt advice.
DCBL may respond and as they have no legal authority to add fake amounts, wonder what they will say ?...... nothing really and if they fail to reply, if it goes to court, you have the perfect letter for the judge to ask the same question.
The courts do not like fakery.
And the interest they claim on an out of date county courts acts, judges know that current interest rates are not 8% .... they normally dismiss this
Don't be intimidated by DCBL and the rubbish logo "can't pay" ..... it is a sick method to make you pay ....... and you know, if this does go to court, a judge will dismiss the fake £70 as the judge will abide by the spirit of the law and dismiss the interest claim as well
A court claim must be signed as a statement of truth by DCBL so will they claim the claim is true considering government has banned the fake. That would be contempt of court which could lead to prison for them.
Cheaper really to go to court and have fun, it is no big deal and if you lose which is doubtful with these dodgy claims, just pay up and no CCJ problem. That is how the county court works.
IF YOU WIN which you should with a dodgy claim, you can claim costs up to £95
That really is the fun part

I have sent an email to their data department requesting SAR. Should I also responed to the letter and ask for it to be put on hold for 30 days?KeithP said:

You don't do anything, only your partner.
What do you mean 'get away with it'? You've done nothing wrong. It's the rogue parking industry who've been getting away with it.

My partner has now recieved a claim form from the county court. It was me who was driving, my partner wasn't even with me. I want to fight this but not in my partners name. At this late stage can I get this changed into my name?0

It cannot be changed once a court claim has been made, so you'll have to forget that. The claim must now be defended, the process for which is provided in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, second post. All the process steps are there. In addition the forum provides your partner with an oven-ready defence (apart from them giving a short introductory synopsis of the parking event at the beginning of the defence). You can do the work, but it must be in your partner's name, and they will have to attend the hearing, although you can speak on their behalf as their 'Lay Representative' (Google it so you understand the parameters).vadippin said:My partner has now recieved a claim form from the county court. Has service of the claim been acknowledged, and if so, on what date? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Why do that ? You need to understand that despite the bluff and bluster DCBL present, it all means nothing until a court judge makes a ruling and from what we see, DCBL don't do very wellvadippin said:My partner has now recieved a claim form from the county court. NOBODY admits who was driving. As you are now subject to a fake add-on scam, judges do not like their court being used and abused by claimers of a scam1 -
You can't. The Defendant must defend.vadippin said:My partner has now recieved a claim form from the county court. It was me who was driving, my partner wasn't even with me. I want to fight this but not in my partners name. At this late stage can I get this changed into my name?
What a pity that you didn't mention that you wanted to do this back in May, when your partner could have transferred liability to you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
