Morning All
Dry and bright this morning, will peg out the washing once it's finished. I've put the tumbling toms out for some fresh air, hoping they can stay out now.
Work yesterday was good, I bought bedding plants at the weekend and put them all in the tubs at the front of the school yesterday, hopefully children and squirrels will leave them alone. One more hanging basket to do today, I'll find some willing helpers I'm sure!
DD and family are away on a caravan holiday this week, I called yesterday and sprayed the oven with cleaner so will call back again today to clean it up. Will see if I can catch one of her neighbours today to ask if they can put their bins out tomorrow to save me stopping by again.
Hope everyone's well, enjoy Tuesday. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all
Rain due here later so its a bit overcast and dull atm, off to work for me and carrot and corriander soup making today, I have a meeting tonight for my new job so I am hoping to get some more info today, its taking far longer than we thought but social services are never very quick at anything !
Fish pie for dinner tonight will do the mash with low fat creme fraiche to cut the calories down a bit, have not lost anymore so far but I did have a few wines at the weekend
We are having trouble with one of my nephews and his mum, he messaged me asking if he could come and stay with my mum again and I told him no that he was too messy and she could not afford to keep him etc, he went mad at me calling me all names under the sun he was so rude and told me I do nothing for mum ! Ive told him to stay away and that nan is too frail, I suspect he has run out of drugs so wants a free ride for a while, I found out mum was buying him tobacco and he snuck a bottle of vodka into her shopping trolly before she went into hospital. He is a bit of a nightmare and she really doesnt need that at the moment. It ended up with him de-friending me on FB and telling me to F off ! His dad would be furious if he were here.
Rosy when are you off to Greece ? have an amazing time xxx
Hope you all have good days xx11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Seems to be a nice enough morning so far - yesterday afternoon was showery. I got wet waiting for Dgd outside school.I washed some throws and cushion covers yesterday before the rain came along, and got them mainly dry.Today, what does today have in store - not a lot really, just the usual stuff. One of us will collect Dgd from nursery, his Mum is having her hair done, and it saves her watching the clock at the hairdressers. We are her only help really, her partners Mum still works, she's younger then us, and doesn't live nearby.. Dgd has friends but will always ask us first as friends have their own children. We are only a 15 min walk away from her anyway so it's handyWe don't mind, and want to help anyway, I remember the days of tearing between school and nursery and always being in a hurry. We'll go to the quiz tonight of course, some friends who also go have just returned from holiday so we'll get their news. That's about it really.Thinking of anyone who is poorly or struggling with life - take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A glorious start here but I am not being fooled into pegging washing out as showers are forecast. Grr.
Got back from my week at the caravan last night with a mountain of washing and DD informed me her washer had broken down and could she use mine till it's fixed or a new one bought, whichever is the case. So much for me trying to cut back on fuel! With 3 DDs you can imagine the mountains of washing she does.
Anyway I had a very slothful week away doing lots of reading. Mostly indoors as the weather wasn't very kind to me as when it was nice and sunny that dratted wind was blowing. One or two heavy showers but watching the news it seems we got off lightly compared to you further south. DD stayed over when she dropped me off on Monday and we had a girlie day out on Tuesday with lunch at The Pancake House in Pateley. I had their Lush Breakfast and I dread to think what the calorific value was! My only other jaunt was Sunday to the boot sale in Ripley with DD's ex MIL who also has a caravan on site. I have enough clutter here to get shut of without buying more so was quite restrained until we came upon 2 ladies starting to pack up all the clothes they were selling. They said everything £1 so we had a good root through. Most of it was brand new, sadly mostly larger sizes but I did find a dress and an embroidered canvas jacket my size, at £1 each still with tags a real bargain!
I am meeting my BFF this morning as usual for coffee and lunch. She had her first chemo session on Friday but so far so good as she says she feels fine, albeit a bit tired. She has been fit up with 2 wigs and some turbans in readiness for losing her hair, which they say will be in about 3 weeks. Despite all the appointments she is trying to live life as normally as possible. She's made of sterling stuff.
Well enough waffling from me. I haven't had chance to read back yet so hope nothing untoward as happened to anybody. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies and poorly loved ones and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Hi everyone and thanks for the thread nmlc,
Bright start here after yesterday's almost continual rain. I had no need to water the garden pots! I got a wash load done and hung up indoors, so that's to sort shortly.
WFH today and a couple of short meetings to attend, nothing to set the world on fire. Another role (grade higher than me) came up at work, working in the MH area, so something I'm very interested in. Unfortunately they want a degree and I don't have one having left school at 16 to help my single parent Mum. C'est la vie!
Dinner tonight will be pan-fried salmon, jacket potato and lots of veg.
Sorry to hear about your nephew Ruby - your DMum has enough on her plate and doesn't need that as well. Some people are so selfish. Take it they are illicit drugs and not meds that he's run out of?
Sounds like the car is getting a lot of usage taff
Hope all the poorlies are doing okay and hugs to all in need.

Morning all, and welcome back TA, it's good that you had a relaxing week.Yesterday turned out to be mostly lovely, lots of blue sky behind big fluffy clouds and lots of wind. I risked a washing load on the whirly and it dried quickly. My quick trip into town to post some letters made my back twinge a bit though not too much after I took a couple of ibuprofen. If you look at yesterday's thread you'll see some passing 'wildlife' on my drive back.My new electric cordless strimmer arrived so I unpacked it, had a look at the assembly instructions and put it down. I'll do it today. 😀
DP1 - I'll be about 50 minutes from Nuremberg, a really lovely part of Germany, I'm looking forward to going back. I packed my suitcase yesterday, plenty of Branston and chocolate again. This beautiful rainbow has just appeared, I looked up from my bed and there it was, such a great start to the day even if the weather is dull. It disappeared very quickly. I'll resize when I get to my laptop, can't do on my tablet.I hope that everyone has a good day, happy Tuesday to all.

Good morning all, I went away for 5 days,, but have been awol for rather longer. We had a great time away, weather good and good food etc, OH and I are both pretty down atm, but we just try and keep plodding on.
Had a great visit from one of my DBs at the weekend, he found a good chunk of spare time so came to do a job for us and brought one of his little dogs, she is only tiny, but so cute, we had a light lunch and lots of catching up, it was lovely.
Quite a lot of welcome rain yesterday, fine here currently.
Off for first face to face appointment at the big hospital today, I have ascertained that DH can come with me, annoyingly I am almost deaf in one ear. presently and will need to borrow his ears if I miss anything. LFT negative. Journey will be approaching 4 hours return, but the hospital is in the right area of the city for us.
Take care allThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)11 -
Good morning everyone
Pleased to hear you had a nice break TA - did Sparkle behave herself?
Maddiemay - hope your appointment is ok
Gers -yes it is a lovely part of Germany - I'm going back to stay with DD for a week at the beginning of August. I'm really looking forward to it. She's off to Milan tomorrow for 5 days.
No work today but I have to take my bike to get repaired. There seems to be something wrong with the chain so the pedals don't work. I called with it yesterday on my way home from work but the 'bike people' had already finished for the day. I had a go at fixing it myself but couldn't - my hands got very oily.
Well better go - hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning all- sunshine & showers here today, just about avoided getting wet dogwalking by ducking under the trees. Got my T delivery in half an hour or so.Maddie hope the hospital appt goes well, glad you enjoyed your break & you too TA.Ruby sorry your nephew is being troublesome again, your DM doesn't need that
.Thanks we are off tomorrow lunchtime. The bride to be (DN) & family went last night, they videocalled from the airport and said it was ok but their flight was delayed an hour.False tan applied to white legs! Just a light one, I don't want to look like some of the girls I see walking home from school with orange legs
I may not be able to post over the next week, I'm no good typing on my phone
Hope it's a good day for you all, take care xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11
