My Mountfield M28M is not pulling...Any tips..

After fitting sharpened blades I did one round of cutting around front of house where better grass area is there,. Now I moved to area where  it not just grass but cow parsley as well as stinging nettle and other weeds plenty. Ground is bit bumpy as well. Now mower is struggling to move especially after 5-10 min ride. I am forced to push it a lot, sometimes even thats not helping to move the mower forward. After checking different forums I can see people suggests to change drive belt, which seems to be out of my DIY skills.

Is there any other tricks/tips/tweaks I could apply  to get pulling power from my mower.
Q. Is there a way to completely empty engine oil and replace with fresh oil like in the case of car servicing? will that help..? is that easy to do on a Mountfoeld mower?? I can see engine oil is hot after some use I suppose thats expected and purpose of engine oil.
Q. How the servicing of  ride-ons normally done, need to take to repair centre..?

Many times it get a slight forward attempt  and then I push It start moving. Some times its not moving at all, then I have to stop  mowing and come back after an hours or so.  Tried with different gears also with high & low power.

Any good tips please...Thanks

Cut the tall stuff down with a strimmer or garden shears first. Then rake up and dispose of the cut material.  Then try the mower on the very highest setting, with the mower moving forward as slowly as possible, and if necessary only cutting half a mower's width at a time.

Domestic mowers aren't designed to tackle very tall grass/weeds - you will quickly destroy it by overloading it.

Also, how are you pushing it? A ride on mower isn't designed to be pushed - not only could that damage the mower, it also sounds extremely dangerous.

You might want to look in to whether a local college does courses on using and maintaining garden machinery safely.  You'd get a better idea of what is safe (or not), and you'd learn about things like changing the oil.  Some practical tuition will give you a lot more than a forum like this ever can.

Ride on mowers will generally be serviced at mower repair centres as they have the kit and the knowledge.  It would certainly seem that something you did when changing the blades has created a problem so trying to fix anything yourself from this point on doesn't seem like a good idea.  Any repair centre will have a collection service for ride ons.

I did trimming with other tools last year as ride-on delivery delayed and grass/weed over grown by the time it got delivered. This time weeds are not that bad max 0.4m.

Not sure how pushing mower is that dangerous..? I will be sitting on the ride-on and my partner gives gentle push to get momentum.

It wasn't anything to do with blade change. i suspect a bit on the good 'shower' mower had 2 weeks go which nearly stalled everything. Thats why I was trying to how easy to drain engine oil from ride-on mower. I have Mountfield oil in stock so if drain and refill that could be good.

Getting it for servicing is difficult as I need to take it to a service centre or need to get engineer at home (remote place).

400mm is likely to be two to three times the maximum height the mower is designed to cut.  Anything over about 100mm will make it struggle.

The answer, as I said in my previous post, is to reduce the load on the mower by cutting less width at a time, or reducing the height of the tall stuff first.

This is why going on a lawnmower/garden equipment course would be a good idea.

The person pushing could slip and fall into a dangerous position, or the mower could run back over the top of them.  If you read the mower instructions it will almost certainly say that everyone other than the operator of the mower (sitting on the seat) should be kept well clear.

If you need someone to push you when you are using a ride on mower then you are doing it wrong.

If the problem were mechanical - such as an issue with the engine oil - then you wouldn't have been able to cut the 'better' lawn ok.  The fact you are having problems with the longer/rougher grass points to one very simple reason.... you are expecting the mower to do something it wasn't designed to do.
