Letter before court for Parking charge from 6 years ago

Received correspondence from Gladstones advising of their intention to take me to court for a parking charge from 6 years ago. Need advice as how best to proceed. Made a request for info relating to their proposed claim and they sent me a copy of the postal notification with photos of a stationary car with driver still inside the vehicle (along with some other info)  Do I need to respond to them as 6 years have passed and I read somewhere that they can’t legally pursue an invoice after six years. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Can we see a redacted copy of that letter. Cover up personal identifying details, but please leave the (critical) dates showing.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

LOL, so the LBC was dated January which was in time (the six years being up in April), but you did brilliantly, asked some questions, headed it off at the pass and they are now timed out!

    EXACTLY WHAT WE'D HAVE DONE.

    I would be replying:

    Dear Sirs,

    Ref xxxxxxxxxxx

I am sure your client would indeed be 'very happy' to hear my payment proposals now that they are timed out to take any legal action - but don't think so, do you?  Erase my data immediately.  Too late.

    yours faithfully,

    you

Thanks for this advice! So it’s true that after six years they can’t make a claim ?
