Is this gas tariff a good deal?

My current gas tariff finishes in October so now I'm trying to see if I should switch to a fixed deal or do nothing and let me roll on to the default tariff which will be at the price cap rates.
Supplier has offered me this fix for a year which would start in October:
Supplier has offered me this fix for a year which would start in October:
Unit charge 9.87p/kWh
Standing charge 27.22p/day
My current rates are 3.84 p/kWh and 19.27 p/day
So I'm wondering if I should fix on this or not.

Well it's below 10p/kWh, so it's better than some fixes currently on offer, and you say it wouldn't come into force until October so you'll still enjoy the next four months on your current deal. What is the exit fee? If the October cap turns out to be 9p/kWh, say, could you buy yourself out of the fix and still be ahead?N. Hampshire, he/him. 26th August I think the next price cap will be released so for the OP look at the terms and conditions and see if you can cancel without penalty.0 -

The exit fees probably don't apply if the new contract hasn't started.
@michaelbradley this will be good to check with your supplier and this deal
With the next price cap out on the 26th August the OP can accept the fix and break for free if they prefer the October price cap rates for their region.0 -
Thank you all for good advice0
