I use FB Marketplace very rarely usually for heavier items such as furniture.  I am mystified as I have received a message that says my account has been disabled due to issues with Stripe.  I have contacted Stripe who confirm there isn't a problem.  I have tried contacting FB without any luck and wondered if anyone had had a similar problem.  I sell on Ebay and have done for 11 years so nothing obvious comes to mind.

I don’t use stripe so don’t know how it is linked to Facebook but I’ve seen several mentions of sellers in the US where Facebook take payments direct sometimes using stripe, having issues. I only advertise on Facebook and when I get sales just send my PayPal details direct to buyer .

A few months ago FB were pushing for items to be posted so I did so..  I think I am more concerned with FB being so unreachable and not communicating.

I've not had that yet, my marketplace sales are still allowing me to deal direct. I am not sure I will move onto FB managed sales until it settles down a bit , I didn't even know it had been launched in the UK, the US sellers say it is expensive as FB take a fee, the payment system is broken and many are reporting payouts are delayed or go missing on occasions. Strangely you might do better looking at US re selling forums on FB for an answer to your question- as I haven't come across another UK seller on managed sales yet.

Last year there was an MSE thread which I questioned at the time that reported MSE had been told that all UK marketplace sellers would be forced onto managed payments for items that had a postage option from February 2022 - it was only MSE that reported that and as I had thought- it was wrong. The only sales exempt would be , like the US, for items that were collection only.

Thank you Soolin- I decided just to cancel Stripe( who were very helpful) and remove my listings.  At least I don`t get the ` is it still available` mantra said daily!
  • I currently have the same message on my FB marketplace, I haven't a clue what it means especially as i'd never heard of stripe yet alone have any kind of account with them - I still have items listed which to be honest aren't shifting anyway but wondered if this was reason why.
