War widows pension and state pension

Veterans UK have informed I should continue to receive my WWP and a state pension when I reach state pension age. However DWP have informed me that I will only be entitled to one of them, whichever is the highest. Can anyone advise who is correct as I confused.

May be worth contacting Royal British Legion for advice on this one.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.1

The rules may have changed but my mother certainly continued to receive both. That was some years ago.

I couldn’t find guidance which is why I suggested Royal Legion. I am away aware there are a lot of slightly different schemes and different entitlements based on dates in which entitlement started etc.
Having sad that I would certainly place no reliance on DWP to get it right!Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2 -
You get both. Suspect that the DWP advisor you spoke to only heard 'widow's pension', and assumed that you were talking about State bereavement benefits, which do cease at SPA.3
