    Hi,

So after emailing the court and DCBLegal both my defences a few days ago. DCBLegal got back to me via email today about 1 of the claims, stating their client would like to proceed with the claim, and attached their filed directions questionnaire.

They also made mention of their client being open to settle this outside court, and I should call a particular number within 7 days to take this offer. What do you think of this?

There was no mention of the second claim. This may be because they will send it in a separate email, or perhaps because the deadline for submitting the defence for the second claim has not yet elapsed.

Would it be worth me questioning them about the second claim?

    Thanks

Without any guarantee, this is often a precursor to a discontinuation, particularly so where DCB Legal is involved.  Don't respond, see where it goes.

I think I'd just let it tick along until you know what their next move is. Review it again then.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You were expecting that, weren't you?

Item 7 on that checklist you were following when you filed your Defence says...

Items 8, 9 and 10 on that checklist are well worth re-reading.

Interesting. Yes that prompted me to read other cases in the forum where that has happened. But in case that doesn't happen, best course of action is continue to prepare the Witness Statement and get ready to defend the heck out of this in court.

Did you hear anything back from the OP? How did you get on with your case?

16 months since the above poster visited the forum, and 19 months since the original poster visited. Your chance of a response is probably nil. My guess to the outcome of the cases to which this thread relates, given the involvement of DCB Legal, is that if the OP went through the required processes in defending both claims, DCB Legal would have discontinued. Have you read the DCB Legal discontinuation thread?  If not, please click on the link below:

Thanks for the link, hadn't seen that yet but in line with C-m's advice in the POPLA Decisions thread, I'll wait until I receive an LBC before starting a new thread
