Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry underfoot, although showers forecast for today.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Lunch yesterday was roast lamb, some LO's.
Back to work today - I'll see what sort of mess I've been left!
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone, thanks for starting us off nmlc.Saturday and Sunday were especially quiet for me, mostly down to my sore back and leg. The combination of ibuprofen and paracetamol every two hours kept the worst at bay, that and staying in bed a lot with the electric blanket on, meant that by yesterday I was able to be up for part of the day. Today I seem pain free but will be taking things very gently!Huge thanks for all the thoughts and wishes yesterday, they were very kind. At 5.30pm I lit a candle but didn't have any champagne, can't mix it with analgesics. My DM's crossword friend phoned for a mutually comforting chat. I re-read all the lovely comments from last year which made me even more emotional.SuffolkSue - sorry we missed your DH's anniversary, I hope you were OK? The loss is forever but so are the memories.Whilst in bed on Saturday I re-ordered the cancelled sofas, my choice of fabric came back into stock. 😀 They'll take 10 weeks so should be here just before I go to Australia. Now I need to make sure I'm able to travel on Friday. The trip to Germany has been booked for ages and it's a family gathering so can't be postponed. So, today I'll move around slowly and carefully. My fridge is full.Izzy - lovely woodburner, it looks so good. Burning off the smell was awful for me, the fumes set off a bout of sinusitis but so worth it. It's great that you've achieved your dream
My thoughts are with our poorlies and those struggling. Happy Monday to all.10 -
Morning All
What happened yesterday? I looked for the thread in the morning, thought I was too early. Surprised to see the first post was in the afternoon.
Anyway, lots of gardening over the weekend, my next door neighbour cut the hedge, also cut the wire to his hedge trimmers then cut my arial cable! Cue two neighbours trying to fix it! Seems OK now.
4 day week for me, lots to do but the days will go in quickly.
Hope you all have a good Monday, thinking of those struggling. Take care. XX8 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC, hope work isn't too bad.I thought of you over the weekend Gers, glad to read that you'd had a peaceful day for your Mum's anniversary. I hope that your back and leg get better as the week progresses.Hello Helebore, welcome back NRA, Wicked Lady,. also Florenceem. I was just thinking about you the other day Florenceem, and wondering where you were!Yorkslass the energy bills are frightening aren't they, and it's going to get worse. A real lttle ray of sunshine I am aren't I , sorry folks! It's a fine start here, but I think rain is forecast.
Yesterday we went to a local shopping centre for a few things, then went on to the coast, where we had a lovely walk. It was windy and grey but mild enough. Usually on the coast here there's always a chilly little breeze but it was ok yesterday. It was a lovely change - we don't seem to have been out much lately for some reason.Today it's just same old same old, but we are thinking of a trip to Berwick in the caravan, DH really likes the site we go to there, overlooking the sea, and it's a nice area. We'll sit down with the calendar and plan that.Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of our poorly people.Take care folks9 -

Morning everyone, and thanks for the thread nmlc.
A grey start here after a weekend of sunshine. DH is in Solihull today. DS2 will be revising for his Physics exam on Thursday. Will wake him shortly(!). We spent yesterday at DS1s helping in the garden and I have a sunburnt neck. Long day, but we enjoy helping out. I'm WFH today and I have some washing to do, which will need to be hung up inside. Diet cola chicken with rice for tea tonight.
Hugs to all our poorlies and those with worries. Thinking of you all.

Hi everyone,
I'm watching Paw Patrol with Esben, he had a disturbed night with coughing so Laura is haveing a lie in and we are having some quiet time.
Yesterday I cooked some bolognaise sauce and a lentil and mushroom filling for jacket potatoes from the Bosh cookbook. With a couple of things in the fridge we have meals for several days.
I have a check up at the dentist this morning, hopefully nothing will need doing but I need a prescription for my toothpaste (I'm allergic to something in normal toothpaste).
Have a good day.8 -
Morning everyone
Nice bright morning here - showers are forecast but not till later this afternoon.
I'm going down to sit with dad for an hour or so this morning as mam has an appointment with the nurse. Then down to work at lunchtime - I'm just doing 3 afternoons this week so hopefully I'll manage. I hate keep having to ring and say I can't go in.
Gers good news that you're feeling a bit better today. Are you going to Berlin again?Coxy how do you make diet Cola chicken?
Izzy I wish we had a Lidl here - a lot of people mention money-off vouchers.
So I need some help ladies. I seem to have developed a bit of a tummy after a lifetime of not having one! I eat quite healthily but snacking seems to be my problem - I always have a couple of biscuits with my cuppa - mid morning, afternoon and when I sit down to watch TV at night. Or perhaps some chocolate or a small cake! What do others have for a snack with a cuppa?
I know I need more exercise too but I get out of breath so easily just now. Any wise advice would be much appreciated!
Well better get a shift on - hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning all.
I was awake at 6am and then dozed a bit until getting up about 7.30am. Might need a nap later on.
I sort of have a day to myself today, apart from making DGS's cakes. DH is out to lunch with friends and there isn't anything urgent to do at home. Might go out for a longish walk but will check the weather forecast first.
Shepherd's Pie for dinner but I might just have the meat part with some green veg as I'm currently low carbing and it's working!
Have a good day everyone.9 -
