The operator has contacted us and told us that they have withdrawn your appeal.

If you have already paid your parking charge, this is the reason your appeal will have been withdrawn.

Unfortunately, you cannot pay your parking charge and appeal, which means that POPLA’s involvement in your appeal has ended. You will not be able to request a refund of the amount paid in order to resubmit your appeal to us.

If you have not paid your parking charge, the operator has reviewed your appeal and chosen to cancel the parking charge. As the operator has withdrawn your appeal, POPLA’s involvement has now ended and you do not need to take any further action.
    Victory. Updated POPLA decision thread.

    Thanks @Coupon-mad@1505grandad

Well done, and thanks for adding the victory to the POPLA Decisions sticky. I rather suspect you opened the lid on a ghost ticketing scam can of worms that GroupNexus wanted to avoid having to provide an answer for!

If you're up for causing them some more work, why not raise a complaint to the BPA, citing the bent and dishevelled nature of the windscreen ticket that miraculously disappeared a few seconds after application to the vehicle.  Ask them to interview the ticketer. Copy it to the DVLA as well as your MP, with the letter clearly showing the 'cc' recipients so that the BPA doesn't ignore it, or give you a low key response.

    Send to both.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
