This has been going on for a few weeks. I've done nothing new.
Windows 7, HP laptop
At times refresh works or minimise the screen and return to full screen works but not always
The pages I'm referring to do have or should have a scroll bar as its a long page.
Thanks in advance.

What browser are you using? Is it one that is still supported on W7?0

The browser is important, many now contain a setting that allows you to hide scrollbars - you may have accidentally triggered thisPast caring about first world problems.0

Not sure what you mean by "browser" but the search engine Google, Google Chrome is that the browser?0

The browser is the piece of software that you use to access the internet. Most likely it will be Google Chrome, FireFox, IE, Edge, or Safari.Past caring about first world problems.1

A lot of browsers will be having compatibility issues with old operating systems such as Windows 7.
Microsoft ended their support for 7 over 2 years ago so you are now using an OS that is vulnerable.1 -
chrome is supported on w7 until Jan 2023 at least for security fixes, so no obvious reason why the scroll bars should disappear. That said, w7 is no longer supportedy MS so something might have broken
did you change anything just before it happened ?
also try this

If you are using Firefox then a recent update automatically hides the scroll-bar.
Does it appear if you hover the mouse over where it should be?1 -
Thanks all
Google Chrome I'm using and not Firefox.
It's been ok since yesterday but if it plays up again I will try the link. Thanks again.0 -
More importantly, you should move away from Windows 7 as you are leaving yourself open to exploitation by criminals. You can use these links to check whether you are able to upgrade to Windows 10 or even 11, and if you can you should.2
