Son finished college courses - Child benefit and child tax credits?

My son is 18 in June, he has been studying at college for past 2 years and this week finished all his course work (no exams to do as markings are based on coursework)
For child benefit and child tax credits, does this mean he is no longer in education or is he still classed as being in education until end of term 31st August?
He will be starting UNI in September, if he gets a part time or temporary full time job between now and then does this effect the child benefits and child tax credits we receive?

Your benefits will continue until 31st August. However, if he works more than 24 hours then you will need to report the changes and your benefits will end. https://www.gov.uk/child-tax-credit-when-child-reaches-16

Must have missed the changes to terminal dates as previously all would have stopped at the end of May?0

Big bill is correct. There are different rules for an child over 16 leaving approved education. https://www.gov.uk/child-benefit-16-19

His course hasn't technically finished but he has done enough work to get distinctions in all his modules.
What is the official definition of him leaving education?
Would it be worthwhile him carrying in going in for his 3 days a week until 1st week of June so it extends to August
Also, does child tax credits use the same criteria?0 -
A bit more on this
I've just asked my lad and although he doesn't have to go in to college anymore he is still working from home on a PPD (personal, progress development) which has to be submitted by end of June.
I assume this means his course is still active and he is still classed as being in education?
Some of his class are still attending lessons in college0
