Chase contactless limit

I've recently opened a chase account. This morning I got a notification that I'd reached my contactless limit. Ive messaged them, but over 2 hrs later , haven't had a reply. Anyone know what this means. It wasn't a single transaction limit, as it was only for £61

You’ll have to wait until they get back to you, or you can try calling them if urgent. It seems rather odd that you should have reached your contactless limit after £61. What limit is shown in your account? Click on the person symbol top left to display your limits. Mine are as follows, and I believe they are the default. What do yours say?

What exactly did the message say? Was it merely saying that you'd have to insert the card next time rather than using contactless?Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com1

Yes, I had to input my pin.0

Just checked. My limits are the same as your screen grab.0

There is a limit imposed where the consecutive payments are made by contactless method which then requires you to use chip & pin to re-validate and reset the counter. It was £135 but not sure what it is not and it may even be a random amount.
This is a different limit to those imposed by the card itself. Its an authentication limit rather than a spend limit in a way.0 -
If you want to avoid this "feature", use ApplePay / GooglePay.2

Monzo has a £200 limit with contactless payments before the PIN is required. It was £100 before the contactless limit rose to £100. I'm guessing Chase has a similar limit.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0
