We very clearly were told when we were advised to join the Reward scheme that it would support loan and mortgage applications. I also remember being frustrated by the mobile phone insurance excess (more than our phone value) but never did cancel.
I have decided to follow this up but I have no recollection of when we signed up. It must be around 15 years.
As I don’t know when we joined what can I do?
Thankyou.

You can cancel it and move on with your life. Packaged bank account complaints have a low uphold rate at the best of times. No paperwork isn’t a barrier to complaining but banks got wise to them years ago and started sending out annual benefits statements.
quite often packaged accounts had benefits such as preferential rates for loans. This wouldn’t be a mis-selling point as they would have offered you a lower rate but not a better chance. There’s a chance you could be getting confused with that?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Even if you could prove your allegations, your complaint will be time barred anyway - 6 years from account opening and 3 years from knowing, or when you could reasonably have known, you had cause for complaint - any of the customer account letters that they send annually trigger that and they have been doing those for at least 7-8 years if not longer (I had the old Halifax rewards account in my last job prior to 2014 and used to get them way back then0

I see. Thankyou both.
I got pulled in by the constant FB posts. Will leave it with that info.
