Compatible ink cartridges versus original

1) Colour consistency isn't great, not a problem for printing documents etc but more of an issue if printing photos... its not like someone's skin will come out looking bright blue but colours can take a ting etc
Most budget printers (regardless of ink being genuine or otherwise) will introduce a blue tint of some sort, especially if you're working with older B&W/Sepia photos. Worse case scenario is far too much blue, so you have to compensate for it by taking (from memory and in my experience) about 60% of the blue out of the image on the screen (assuming a budget screen as well) using Paint.net so it looks a bit sickly and surreal on screen but it looked semi-decent on paper. YMMV.

As already said, disable updates on the printers.I have used "Internet Ink" for years with no problems (Epson). Here are the cartridges for the HP Officejet Pro 8600.

As above, have been on Epson printers for years, had a brief dalliance with Canon and HP but returned to Epson. From reading a tip years ago, I think on here, the secret is NOT to go for software updates. Every time I switch on my printer I get a message about updates, but I simply press OK and ignore. If compatibles don't last as long, so be it, it's not really an issue as they cost only a fraction of the genuinesDavid.0
