Pet insurance- do I need to declare this as a 'pre-existing condition'?

I have a couple of questions about my 2 cats.
First questions, cat no.1 is 7 years old and when he was 6 months old he had 3 seizures. We took him to the vet and at the time he wasn't insured so we paid the bill. He hasn't had a seizure or any kind of illness since then so would this be classed as a pre-existing condition for insurance purposes?
Second question, my other cat is currently in the pet hospital and luckily we can collect him today. I don't think the insurance I have is 'lifetime'. The first vet initially suspected it was triaditis but when we took him to the hospital for overnight care the vets there aren't sure that this is the cause of his illness and on the claim form are going to put "pyrexia" (fever). They haven't suggested a special diet and he won't need long term medication so is this technically as pre-existing condition?
Thanks in advance

Both pre existing , unless their terms and conditions put a time limit on the seizures and excludes themEx forum ambassador

It would be hard to exclude a fever especially when the vet could not determine what caused it.

I'd just declare everything because if you don't it could invalidate any future insurance claim. I know it's expensive to keep pets and vets' bills can be astronomical but it's always best to be up front and honest and then the insurers can decide what category to place your pets in.
I hope your cat recovers well. They can be such a worry, bless them all. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
