Just thought I'd say that Dell customers service is outta this world, the chap I got couldn't have been more helpful if he tried.
I got the whole computer package back in 2006...my printer gave up the ghost tonight (won't take paper) and I phoned up and asked about it and said I had a 3 years warranty...the chap (With an asian accent) said the warranty wasn't on the printer just the pc, moniter, keyboard, mouse and hard drive...he then said I'm sorry but your printer warranty expired in March...but he said not to worry he was going to work something out for me....kept me on hold for about 3 mins max, came back and said I would have a brand new one on Tuesday free of charge!:D ...

what a lovely bloke and what a great company!!!!:T

Just wanted to say cheers cause Dell gets alot of stick and people are quick enough to slate the foreign call centres!

I completely agree!When i rang them in September to buy a new laptop they saw I'd bought from them before and gave me a two year warranty for only £17 rather than the £160 they were asking for. I was being very cheeky, i said this is how much i have in my bank account and he put me on hold (like you said no more than three minutes) then came back and said no problem.

The salesman answered his emails quickly, and yes they were a foreign call centre, but i think they did a better job than some of the UK ones!
He also threw in a free laptop case and they also rang me two weeks later to make sure I was happy with the laptop and the service!

have to commend dell myself- my screen went funny at the weekend, couldnnt see the full display. emailed them sunday, had a reply on monday asking me to take a few steps which didnt work, emailed back stating this, recieved an email yesterday stating it is still under guarentee and that an engineer would be with me on wed to replace the screen.

got phone call from engineer about 11 saying someone be with me mid afternoon, got another call about half one just to check directions and engineer arrived at about 2! replaced screen and hey presto its all working fine again!:j :j

so impressed with their quick response, their efficency, how informed i was kept through out the process and how straight and to the point it was!!
