I cannot even send a parcel now……..I thought they were parcel couriers? The rubbish app will not let me pay says they have a fault…..understatement to say the least….don’t even ask about trying to contact them…impossible. What a absolute rubbish company now. Royal Mail me thinks.

My experience is the opposite but then I don't use an 'app', I use the browser in my PC!
Just goes to show that not everything using Smart phone is 'smart' but most things in a browser on a PC 'are' - and if it does 'not' I just switch browsers to find it 'does' in another browser!

If you want to pay a huge amount more, depending on the size and weight of your parcel, then give Royal Mail a go. Otherwise if you have access to a desktop computer, you shouldn't encounter the same problem - I never have (fingers crossed...).

I have to admit that - having read a number of  similar threads on this board, and not often ordering items online - my heart sank when I saw that a pair of shoes I had ordered online from Deichmann was going to be delivered by Evri. But hurrah! the goods arrived promptly (in fact several days earlier than originally advised), were left in the safe place I specified, and only cost £1.95 delivery charge - much lower than many other online companies I've looked at (and would have been free if the shoes had been more expensive!) 

So thank you Deichmann and Evri.

I've never had trouble with Hermes/Evri. We have our own two regular couriers and we now know them both by name. Every time a parcel is despatched to us by H/E we receive tracking notices and we've never been let down. Yet. I guess there's always time but I do get fed up when people slag them off. They are no better or worse than any other courier.

 And RM seems to have pulled its collective socks up too. Although as Marcon says, parcels cost more when you use them.

Where I used to live  Hermes were terrible. Tracking would say it delivered but that actually meant it was on the van waiting to be delivered,  which could be days later.

I stopped using firms that used them for delivery.

Where I live now they are spot on. Delivery is quick and when it is supposed to be.

Since the couriers are contracted it very much depends on the individual courier. who gets a pittance for each parcel delivered.
