Bosch Single Oven

Please move if I haven't put this in the right place
Basically had a new kitchen fitted with a Bosch single oven. When food is cooking in the oven and you open the door a 'plume' of steam comes out. Is this right?
On my last 2 ovens - a cheap Belling and a Hotpoint I never had this, yes the oven was hot but you would never get the 'plume' of steam.
A family member says this happens with her Neff oven too (double oven thats years old).
Is it just a characteristic of a Bosch family oven?

Yes, it's completely normal for steam to come out of any oven when you open the door.1

An electric oven is a hot closed space. If the food you cook produces steam then the air in the oven has 100% humidity. When you open the door, this hot humid air escapes and produces visible steam when mixing with cooler air.It's simple physics, nothing specific to any particular oven, but can depend on the oven mode you use.1

Electric ovens I've used have always given a puff of steam when opened, especially if cooking wetter foods.
I think the only time that wouldn't happen would be with a really cheaply made oven where the door didn't seal properly. That would cost rather a lot to run!
Possibly gas ovens don't do this either: I suppose they will need ventilation to provide oxygen for combustion and remove the water vapour produced from the burning gas. This must make them less efficient than they otherwise could be.2 -

It happens to a greater extent with fan ovens, moreso than an older non fan oven.1
