Comedy article about SJP

https://www.trustnet.com/news/13302710/sjp-adds-more-managers-as-it-learns-from-woodford-mistake

An absolutely toe curling article about St James Place, which actually assumes anybody with any sense would invest with them. They have just learnt from the Woodford debacle (after all that story only broke yesterday!) and you have the wonderful  advice that “If, in aggregate, your multi-managers outperform then your investors will get a good return".
Wow, what insight!
Comedy gold about a firm consistently at the bottom of league tables.

Run a five year table for emerging markets on Trustnet. Of the 111 funds, three of the bottom ten are managed by Jacob Rees Mogg's Somerset, who SJP - in their doubtless politically unbiased wisdom - have now appointed to manage their emerging markets funds

Somerset is clearly of the very highest quality. Pity that it works best for its managers rather than its investors, but that is a mere detail.

    Hi all,
I've been searching for articles relating to Woodford as I lost money and want to know if there is anything I can do to claim back more compensation.
The whole thing has put be off using HL, and was considering SJP as an alternative... I sense you may have an alternative opinion and would be interested to hear it :)

They are basically one of the most expensive worst performers you could invest with, good luck.

To be fair to SJP, and I rarely am, they did constrain Woodford to FTSE350 companies. Arguably they looked after their clients better than HL

One of the major IFA research companies told IFAs to stop using Woodford back in 2017.   Yet you are considering sales reps that continued to keep Woodford up to the end?

Who do you recommend as a replace to HL?

Look up your local IFAs.  Most are the size of your traditional local solicitor or accountant and not national chains.  So, we won't know the local firms operating in your area.
