Improving DAB Radio Reception.

Hello, we are near Chichester in West Sussex. Our house is a 2005 built standard construction brick walled house with cavity walls.
DAB reception is generally good on the first floor but iffy on the ground floor.
We have a Pure Evoke DAB radio in the ground floor kitchen positioned near one corner. See the photo below.
Reception of BBC Radio Five Live, Classic FM and LBC is a bit hit and miss. It normally works OK but we do get regular irritating interference and signal drop outs.
The inbuilt telescopic antenna is 70cm long at its maximum.
Those two kitchen walls face south (left wall) and west (right wall).
How can I improve the reception?
A longer telescopic or fixed length aerial?
Run a length of cable to act as an antenna in the narrow space between the end of the cabinets up to the ceiling.
Install an exterior aerial.
Advice and suggestions please.
Thanks.

Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Put the radio somewhere else?I know it sounds flippant but if that corner is the only place in the kitchen you can't get any signal and you put the radio anywhere else and it can, then the obvious solution is don't put the radio in that corner. Not all radios have the ability to connect (properly) to an external aerial, you can sometimes bodge a solution:

Thanks Neil but there are only 2 places to sensibly put the radio and the reception is equally bad in both.
I may try some of the suggestions in that link.A man walked into a car showroom.

I know it isn't money saving but an internet radio is a much better choice nowadays for use indoors - Pure do a range of them if you enjoy the quality / design of that brand.1

Had exactly the same in my 300 year old stone built house.
what i do is use my tablet to listen to all the stations i want via bluetooth to a speaker works well.
Other option connect alexia and ask her to play the station.1 -
I'd try extending it temporarily to see what works. Not sure about that model but on some models unscrewing the aerial leaves an f connection socket for an external aerial to be connected to.
