Barclaycard fee's and interest refund nightmare!

Hey guys,

I had a letter on 22/04/2022 advising that I'd had a refund made out to me back in November and that I'd not cashed the cheque yet and it will expire if I don't do it soon.

I've never received that cheque, so I have now spent many hours on the phone to Barclaycard regarding this. When I try to call the number for the team that deals with this refund, I'll stay on hold in queue for 2 hours then get cut off. It doesn't matter when I call them (I have tried at exactly 08:00 multiple times) and speaking to Barclaycard customer service just puts me in a loop of them telling me to call that number and there is nothing else they can do.

I've tried calling that number 8 times now and have been on hold for 16 hours. I've been into branch and they say there is nothing they can do, and over the phone they won't let me raise a complaint as they say it would be pointless.

So, is the financial ombudsman the only route I have left to take? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    https://www.barclaycard.co.uk/personal/help-and-support/complaints explains the other options for raising a complaint, which you'd need to do prior to escalating to FOS.

    try getting on to them via twitter or other online route.  you should at least be able to log dis-satisfaction if not a complaint that way.
