Utilta Dumb Meter Fault Letter
I have a dumb meter and stockpiled it as recommended by Martin, before the price rise on the 1st April.
Today I received a letter from a Revenue Assurance Analyst at Utility saying my meter had a fault, which is compromising my safety and that I have 14days to respond otherwise they will start legal proceedings.
I believe given the title of the sender, my energy company have realised I stockpiled and are now trying to get a new meter in my property by any means, so that the cost of my energy is increased.
Of course, I do not wish to legal action taken against me, how do I deal with this.
I haven't broken any law.

Welcome to the forum.By stockpiling, do you mean that you topped up a pre-payment meter, or that you gave inflated readings for a credit meter?1

You could always respond, telling them that the meter looks absolutely fine to you.In the log run, it won't stop them. They have a legal right to replace old meters that are no longer satisfactory. But it may slow them down long enough to use up the credit. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
