Hi just filling in the acknowledgement of service but it asks if I contest the jurisdiction of the claim against me. Really unsure what to put or what this means?

    any help would be appreciated!

I gave you a link in my post immediately before yours.
Are you not following that guidance?

    In there it says:

You are filling it out without having read the NEWBIES thread, where the step by step pictures are?

I've filled it out now, it was fairly self explanatory filling in the online version... it was just the one question I was stuck on as I stated before. Yes I have read the newbies thread....

You do not contest the jurisdiction.  Is this not made clear in the link from the NEWBIE sticky showing how to compete the AoS?

Hi! Couldn't find my own thread so assumed it had been deleted, apologies.

So re the above I'm now at the court stage. There's been a lot of faffing with the Court location changing a lot. However, I'm a little confused as I've just received the solicitors witness statement on behalf of the claimant with a court date on that I have not heard a single thing about from the court itself? Forgive me but I have no knowledge on the process at this stage whatsoever, I've read the threads but I still get confused. Am I awaiting the court date? Why do they have it before I do? Do I prepare a witness statement and a skeleton argument, alongside any evidence I feel relevant?

Their witness statement is rather a poor effort but does mention my lack of appeal. For context I was 21/22 at the time just out of uni and the letters went to my home address where I specifically asked my parents not to open my mail, so missed the chance to appeal and wouldn't have known how to be honest. Then they refer to their agreement with the building management which does mention a permit, but of course I did not see this nor would I have had any way of doing so. There's also no date in their agreement or signatures etc.

im just looking for any guidance or advice at this stage, I'm just feeling really overwhelmed right now. And this has been looming since 2019! Thanks in advance

Also have double checked and I've received no letter requesting my witness statement or mention of a court date. It doesn't surprise me as the letters have been arriving weeks after the date on them or not at all/to the wrong address. They even misplaced my defence. Are they going to believe me when I say I haven't received any correspondence re court dates etc when I genuinely haven't? Panicking more now.

How many addresses does the court and claimant have for you?

    You are missing stuff.

Probably a little late now, but you must make sure that all parties have an address for you where mail will be opened and dealt with in a timely manner.

Just two. The original one is my parents and the only reason they have it is because the car was registered there at the time in 2019 when I was a student. They have my current and only address but seem to send mail to both. I guess I'll have to contact and see.

You need to ensure everything comes to you at one address. Pick the one you want and send a rectification notice to the DPO of the PPC instructing them to erase your data and replace it with your current address for service.

Make sure you use the word I have highlighted.

Include non-photo proof of ID with your notice.

IMHO the key issue is that a) there is a court date and b) C has filed a WS. Would suggest the OP gets on with his own WS based on the defence already outlined and send it to the Court and the other side (including the address for contact). The court date is key and presume it will be in the next 7-14 days.

Perhaps the OP can confirm about the date and its proximity.
