New Garden Rescue
Now the darling boys have gone it's been a few trials.
BBC1 Tuesday.
Loved yesterdays. Flo Headlam there seems to be a good connection that was cheerful, something they tried to achieve in the old format. It took on a more happy programme.
So does anyone have opinions on the various pairings?
Any you prefer?
Are these two too similar or is it a happy change to revitalise?
Oh I'd love their input to the detail in my garden!
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Not a programme I watch but feeling a visit to iplayer is coming onNormally garden / house make overs leave me cold as I think they have been done to death and the drawn out blindfold style reveals are cringey, followed by it only cost twenty billion pounds to look like thisHurrumph!Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens2

Lol yes I agree but I do pick up ideas - even if it's how not to do something.
I just prefer it to the volume of other rubish that's on.
And I love to look at the real detail while they're giving the hype. I'd be furious if they offered me some of that workmanship.
Still love Charlie thoughI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

If they banned the use of the word 'Quirky' and the phrase 'Wow Factor' each program would be 30 minutes instead of 45!3

That made me laugh
Can we add 'make it pop' and 'its going to be amazing'I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

I'm not a fan of this either, maybe it's because there's never anything new or fresh regarding ideas/layouts/etc.
Back in the early days i loved, and learned, a lot from gardeners World but the only gardening related programme i watch now is coverage of the Chelsea F S - and there's an element of the former there too 😕🤷♀️0 -
I don't watch any gardening programmes on the box, but I will look at things for a specific purpose on the Tube. The sort of garden programme that would interest me probably wouldn't appeal to many. Years ago, Channel 4 did a series devoting whole 45 minute episodes to one plant family and that was great. I also like it when they visit NGS type gardens and interview the owners, especially if they've started from scratch. I can identify with that!1

Channel 4s Story of the rose was excellent.
That was decades ago and not repeated.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Beechgrove from Scotland seems to be like GW used to be, more educational, however the I'm not so sure about the new format now it's move from early Sunday morning to Friday evening, flits about too much. But two new gardeners I know enjoy it.Love living in a village in the country side0
