Ticket for a band ..

Just after some advice ..
I bought tickets in 2019 to take my son to see his favourite band who were visiting the UK in April 2020... this concert was obviously postponed.. it was rescheduled to June 2021.. then cancelled and rescheduled again for June this year.. I found out that the band have now rescheduled this for next June! I contacted Eventim and asked if i could cancel, they can refund me but would not refund the additional booking fees (and onto my original credit card which I no longer have)... I appreciate they have Terms and Conditions but having the concert postponed for 3rd time.. I feel they should refund in full now if we no longer can go.

They'll refund the ticket, but the fees are there as their revenue in providing the ticket sales service so you won't get those back.1

How much are the booking fees? Can't imagine more than a few quid?

pretty standard that booking fees are not refunded0

Fully agree its the norm not to refund booking fees but the fees themselves are additional revenue... they obviously get a cut of the ticket price on top of the booking fee which is why some sites charge them and others dont. Some discount ticket sites are clearly waiving part of their ticket margin and then adding it back in as a booking fee.Deleted_User said:They'll refund the ticket, but the fees are there as their revenue in providing the ticket sales service so you won't get those back.
Personally dont understand how they get away with their existence... buy a laptop from Apple and its £1,000, buy an Apple laptop from Currys and its not £1,000 + £5 stocking fee. Why most ticket sellers get to take their sellers fee from the tickets and charge a booking fee on top seems odd to me.1 -
Thank you .. I appreciate your comments I just feel after the concert has been postponed for a 3rd time there should be a little compassion/customer service. But will swallow the fees.0

I've always hated paying the extra fees on tickets but have since worked in a theatre on the booking system and discovered that the theatre is charged by the software provider for every transaction! I was suggesting to the manager that the fees should be included in the ticket price so that the customer didn't feel cheated when they are added at the end of the transaction but the manager pointed out that the customer would then feel even more cheated if they are due a refund as they would not feel they had received back what they paid when the fees are taken off the refund - hope that makes sense!0

Dont know about the software for theatre companies but insurance companies that use off the shelf software also typically get charged by the software companies on a per sale basis (or even a per quote basis too) however that cost pales into insignificance compared to the marketing costs charged by aggregators or Google etc. I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same for theatre companies.miniemma said:I've always hated paying the extra fees on tickets but have since worked in a theatre on the booking system and discovered that the theatre is charged by the software provider for every transaction! The reality is doing business costs money... when you send back the item you didn't like from Amazon they cannot/do not reduce the refund because they lost monies having to pay a picker to get the order, packaging to send it to you etc... its just built into the overall price.0
