HSBC conduct Hard search on just opening an account without overdraft. Rather than a soft search
Well I will always be cautious now when it comes to banks and advance accounts.. My score 800 and dropped 75 points .. never again will I apply when I building credit for a good mortgage rate .. the comments have been informative. Thanks everyone
They may have been informative, but it's not going to help you if you just choose to flat-out ignore them. If you paid even the slightest attention to anything you've been told, you wouldn't be complaining about a drop of 75 points on your (largely) meaningless credit score. If you want to build up a credit history to get a good mortgage rate I suggest you start actually listening to people when you ask for their help!
HSBC has been convicted of money laundering for mexican drug cartels. It is also very heavily leveraged compared to other banks so don't open an account and if you do keep a minimum account balance
