Grant of Probate - where is it?

Hello, am a bit stuck on obtaining the grant of probate and any help greatly appreciated.
We have filled in the application online and then the IHT400 that was asked for.
After a while we received a letter in December from HMRC that said:
'Thank you for your form IHT 400, Inheritance account.
We have emailed your form IHT 421, 'Probate Summary' to HM Courts and Tribunals Service, so you can get your grant. We are no longer able to return the form IHT 421 to you or send a stamped copy.'
I've rang & emailed the HM Courts & Tribunal Service, and the HMRC, but had no reply (or can't get through).
I have no idea where the grant is or how to get it.
Not sure where to turn next.
Thank you in advance.

There may be a backlog in this being dealt with, but having received the e-mail, it should eventually come through.
Have you tried replying to the e-mail to say you have not heard anything and ask if they can check it for you?I'm a retired IFA who specialised for many years in Inheritance Tax, Wills and Trusts. I cannot offer advice now, but my comments here and on Legal Beagles as Sam101 are just meant to be helpful. Do ask questions from the Members who are here to help.1 -
Have you tried the Probate webchat? They should be able to find your application and you can ask them escalate your case to be looked at by an Examiner. Try this link as it skips past the "All our advisors are busy. Try again in a few minutes." message https://www.apply-for-probate.service.gov.uk/avaya-webchat. It may keep saying that the queue is more than 20 minutes but it often connects much faster.

Though the online submission covered this, followed by the IHT400 various forms - but not so.
Will fill in this form and send.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction

But advice from the probate webchat can be random at best so it might be a good idea to double check.
If you previously paid the application fee then you may be starting a second application so it might be worth having another webchat and providing any reference numbers that you have from your original application.
Do you have an probate online account and password and does the web page https://www.apply-for-probate.service.gov.uk/dashboard show your application?
