Do you need colour?
How much do you print?
What will you be printing from? Desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone or combination thereof?

I have been using a
Canon PIXMA MG3600 series for years with over 10,000 pages printed. Cheap and cheerful but no problems. A friend (aged 74) got a computer for Xmas and I have worked with her (I used to teach beginners years ago) and she is now quite expert.
She wanted something cheap and cheerful and bought one (MG3650S) form Argos £39.99 as she is now compiling quizzes for a group she is a member of and finds it ideal.

I would recommend an Epson Expression Home XP-2155 at £44.99 at Argos or the Epson Expression Home XP-4150 at £64.99. Both of these printers have wireless connectivity too.You could then sign up for Epson's Ready Print programme where you get ink sent out to you as needed. The cost of this starts from £1.29 a month for 30 pages with a range of other options available too.I've been using this system since 2020 and have found it excellent. It's far cheaper than buying the oem cartridges myself or getting copies that can give issues.

Not heavy users - perhaps 10 sheets a month

With such light use, you risk an inkjet clogging up. However, I have an Epson expression and have always used cheap compatible cartridges in it with no trouble. I have a colour test page I print at high resolution if I've gone a week or thereabouts without printing much in colour, just to put some ink through it.Middle_Sister said:

Is there a programme that can automatically print a page once a week?
Ah! Some solutions here:
