Almost fell for a scam

I received a txt yesterday - supposedly from Royal Mail - telling me that a delivery had been attempted and due to nobody being in - the delivery had been returned to the depot - with a link to an extremely realistic RM site - this site asked me for my full name and address and mobile number
At this point, I wondered why it needed my mobile number because they had texted me on it
Next step was to pay (I think that it was) £1.60 redelivery fee
This raised my hackles further still and I stopped and used google which alerted me to https://conversation.which.co.uk/scams/royal-mail-fake-website-text-scam-warning/ from last year..
Basically - it appears to be doing the rounds AGAIN
You have been warned !
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

I got one of these - ironically in my case the first "red alert" sign for me was the price - £1.60 is too cheap for Royal Mail delivery services (Think they charge a fiver or so just for "handling").Peter
Debt free - finally finished paying off £20k + Interest.1 -

Re-deliveries on Royal Mail missed parcels are free so you should never expect to pay anything for one!

but I have no way of knowing whether this is genuine or faked ?This page details how to report a scam text by forwarding it:I also do it if i get one as the more data they get the better.

The number is now unobtainable
Does this imply that it was faked in the first place or it had been closed down?
