Virgin Oomph Dim

Am still on the Virgin Oomph package with the included sim. Am switching to BT for broadband though and cancelling virgin soon, however I'm more than happy with virgin mobile and happy to move onto a 24 month contract for the VM sim I want.
I've asked virgin about this though and they seem to be confused and noncommittal about how exactly it would work.
I'd be annoyed if they !!!!!! it up and I lose my number.
Anyone done this before? Maybe I'm not explaining it right to them.

Never had Virgin so no direct experience but, if the mobile number is important to you then I would be looking to secure it before starting the cancellation process. Get a PAC code and move it to a cheap PAYG sim as a stopgap. Can always swap it back to VM at a later date.
Of course, when you cancel, VM may offer you the best mobile package ever if you haven't moved it. I guess it depends on your perception of the risk of VM losing your number and whether you have the time/inclination to juggle sim deals/swaps.0 -
I did consider that, but I expect they'll not do anything during the 30 day notice so have time. It wouldn't be the end of the world to move to one of the other providers (unlimited or very large data is important), but the added bonus of free roaming, and I know I get decent signal where I need it means I don't need to move. Will bring it up when I phone to cancel and see what they say, then if it sounds dodgy I'll just move to another provider.0

Considering accepting a renewal after an initial spell on Virgin Oomph package.
The Volt package offered includes a o2 sim-does anyone know how this is billed?
Is it separate from the VM bill?
Thanks.0 -
Separate contracts and billing. Page here https://www.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-o20

Andy,
Also consider as the VOLT O2 sim is a separate contract it will go up yearly with RPI... recently this increased peoples VOLT bundles by about £2.92... this makes the VOLT included mobile very expensive.
Just a heads up.0
