huawei touchscreen

i   have  searched    for  solution  to   this  but  cant  find  the  answer
i  have  a  huawei  p  smart  phone  and  recently  had  problems  with  touchscreen
it will   work  for  a  short  period  of  time   after  switching   on  then  either  freezes  or have "ghost"  buttons  if  trying  to  type
i    have  to  hold  and  press  to  force   a  restart  then  it  works   fine  again  for  a   short  while   then  back  to  unresponsive  as  above 
ive  cleared   cache  deleted  unused  apps  have  plenty  of    free   space     and   regularly  run  clean  up   and  have  antivirus 
im  at  a  loss  of  what  else  to  try  because  it  works  for  a  short  time    without  problems    i  have  removed  the  screen  protector  and   phone  has  not  been  bashed  or  dropped
maybe  someone  has  had  the  same  problem  thanks  for  reading
