Replacement vacuum warranty runs concurrent to and finishes with the original.

Hi All,
The question:
Should a warranty date reset when a replacement is sent or should it expire at the end of the original warranty period?

Background:
I brought a V11 Absolute June 2020, it comes with a 2 year warranty. After multiple reoccurring parts failures it was replaced by Dyson in October 2021. This has always been part of the good experiences I have had over the years with Dyson.
I have noticed however that the replacement warranty finishes on the 2 year anniversary date of the original machine. In the past warranties on Dyson replacements and replacement parts reset to to start again from when the replacement was ordered. 
I sort of understand the excessive cost for buying the V11 due to the R&D involved and it is a very good machine. I wasn't that happy with that cost to only have 2 years warranty compared to the 5 years I have been used to with corded vacuums but accepted it.
However I do not understand how a new (albeit a replacement) machine has less warranty period than when you purchase a machine.
I also wonder how it fits with the consumer rights criteria 'Goods must be 'fit for purpose' AND 'last a reasonable length of time'. For me the 8 months warranty for a complete replacement does not deem a reasonable length of time, especially as I have had 2 parts replaced on the replacement in that time.
Dyson call centre just stated to me that every company has its own warranty policy and that this is Dyson's.

    Did the original warranty say that the clock would restart if they sent you a replacement machine?

    The manufacturer's warranty is outside statutory consumer rights, so your rights are only what is stated in its terms.

    It should run to the original duration, unless a company is feeling very generous. 

    A warranty is just that - it warrants you'll have a working item for a specified length of time. It doesn't mean you can get endless replacements by invoking the warranty each time.

    Your warranty is in addition to your statutory rights.

    It is common for warranties to not reset when a product is replaced under that warranty. Under consumer law you are in exactly the same position now as you would have been had the original appliance not failed, so the remaining warranty is correct.

    No, usually it doesn’t and for good reason. 

    Look at it this way. If the appliance hadn't been replaced, you would still have the original and the warranty would end after two years. As it is, you’ve claimed on the warranty and received a replacement. If this wasn’t the case, you could potentially have a replacement under a new warranty forever more. 

    As previous poster advised, a warranty is in addition to your statutory rights and can have any conditions it likes.

    As mentioned by all, you would not normally get a new warranty for a replacement item. Most warranties are "attached" to the contract of sale for the item rather than the individual item itself.

    Also, warranties are completely separate and in addition to your statutory consumer rights, so you shouldn't conflate the two.

    Some will offer eg a 90 day warranty or the original and whichever is longer will apply.

    Looking more in to the Dyson warranty, the individual parts replaced on the replacement carry a 12 month warranty and as it is always the same two parts that fail always within 6 months, I should get some value for money out of it.
